Sex Offender Lists: Through an agreement between the prosecuting attorney and the lawyer for the accused, many people have ended up on their state’s sex offender list without being convicted of a crime. The fact that the event will not show up on your criminal record does not stop the inclusion of your name on the sex offender list to be included in your background check.
